Sunday brunch in April. First timer here at Mean Deans local food restaurant. Wow! The flavor of the most common food items on the menu were off the hook. Seriously the best seasoned and cooked French fries I have ever had. And I’m no you pup! Every thing is cooked with attention to detail and to maximize the flavor of that individual item. You will not be disappointed in any one of the daily specials or menu items. Service was perfect! We even got a visit from the “mean” owner himself! Don’t deny your tastebuds the experience of of this hidden gem in Bradenton, Florida. Great Food, great prices, exceptional service! What else could you ask for? Enjoy, life is short. We were driving around deciding on what to eat and saw this place. What a great decision. Food was delicious. Veronica was our waitress and she was phenomenal. She checked on us and made sure we had what we needed. We will definitely be coming back. They have local events and live music as well.
We visited with the goal of tasting the Alligator Soup and Gator Bites, and they completely exceeded our expectations. Trying them for the first time was an unforgettable surprise—Chef Dean has turned these dishes into pure culinary magic. An experience everyone should have at least once in their life. Many thanks!
This place was surprising. The location and aesthetic didn’t match nor do the food and level of service justice. Our server Veronica was outstanding. Honestly one of the best servers I’ve had in a very long time. Her level of service was a 10/10. Veronica’s knowledge the menu from and back, ability to creatively articulate the fine details of each dish as if she had made it herself, was great. The food was hands down really good. The ingredients were all very fresh and the meal tasted like something your grandma would make in all the best ways possible. Aka the food tasted like a comforting hug. This restaurant is a true find- great prices, great food, great service. If you are looking for a great meal and even better service- check out Mean Deans.
We dine here from time to time and always enjoy the food and service! Alex was our server tonight again, and his service was great just as the other times we've had the pleasure of him serving us. We got the buffalo gator bites and blackened gator chowder for appetizers, my husband got the Gouda burger, I got the salmon tacos, and my dad got the Cuban sandwich. We also got a side of 5 cheese Mac n cheese for the table to share. Our entrees were amazing! The rice and beans are extremely flavorful, the tacos were cooked perfectly and I loved the crema and salsa, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the Cuban was very delicious and healthy portion size. We really enjoyed tonight's house made butter with their rolls, which was a caramel butter! We also decided to get their dessert flight which was their two regular desserts of key lime creme brulee and mean dean's famous peanut butter pie alongside their daily dessert special, which today was a hazelnut crunch cake. Alex was even kind enough to go ask the chef what was in the hazelnut crunch cake for me when I inquired about it. The dessert flight was so fun to share as a group, especially with how it was presented, and we really enjoyed them all. The peanut butter pie was TO DIE FOR!! If you dine here and like peanut butter, definitely order this for your dessert, you won't be sorry! Amazing experience per usual, and we will absolutely be back
Our server Alex was fantastic! He was so attentive and sweet. Very pleased with the service and food. Highly recommend the lobster lasagna and the bourbon maple short rib!! Tooooo good.
Matt was our waiter and he did a great job on up selling drinks,and explaining specials and deserts. The portions were perfect size for the price. First time here and will definitely come back before we leave to Texas.
